Leaves release tannins and organic compounds that condition the water, lower the pH, and slightly tint the water, which can reduce stress in turtles, fish and other aquatic animals. This Leaf Litter is made up of leaves from the Jackfruit Tree, that will slowly break down over time adding beneficial tannins to the water. Turtles may tear up and eat these non-toxic leaves.
